Kingsland’s three-win week included two nailbiters. The Knights first handled Grand Meadow 80-26. Jayden Brink (26 pts, 6-15 threes, 6 rebs, 4 asts) and Max Erdman (18 pts, 7-9 FGs, 6 rebs) did work. Parker Johnson (12 pts, 6 rebs) and Courtland Drury-DeBoer (12 pts, 5 rebs, 5 asts) helped. A back-and-forth offensive tussle with Lanesboro had 11 lead changes. Kingsland took the lead at 62-61 in the second half, and led by as many as seven, but Burro senior Kaden Stettler’s driving lay-up in the final 25 seconds tied the game 78-78. Erdman then scored the game-winner on a tough shot with 3.3 left. Brink subsequently had a steal. The Knights prevailed 80-78! Brink (20 pts, 6-10 threes, 6 asts, 4 stls) and Erdman (16 pts, 14 rebs) did big work. Drury-DeBoer (12 pts, 5 rebs), Ayden Howard (11 pts, 4-5 FGs), and Gavin Hubka (9 pts) helped. Will Harvey (23 pts, 3-8 threes, 8-9 FTs) led the Burros. Stettler had a big point-assist double-double (10 pts, 7 rebs, 14 asts, 5 stls). David Harvey (16 pts, 12 rebs), Mason Howard (14 pts, 6 rebs), and Lucas Nikoloski (10 pts, 4-5 FGs) gave the Burros five in double figures. Kingsland hit 11 of 26 threes (42%), Lanesboro 6 of 18 (33%). The Burros won at the line 18 of 21 (96%) to 11 of 21 (52%). Lanesboro fell to 6-12, 6-16. Kingsland then hosted Goodhue in a back-and-forth game. In overtime, Erdman hit some key free throws and Brink nailed the game-winning three in the final seconds to give the Knights a 76-74 win! Erdman (21 pts, 12 rebs, 5-7 FTs, 4 stls), Brink (19 pts, 3-12 threes, 5 rebs), and Drury-DeBoer (16 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts) led the way. John Fenske’s Knights (13-4, 16-4) have won six of seven and trail Southland (14-2, 18-3) in the West.
