Bonnie Lou Dungan passed from this life on August 10, 2024, into the arms of her Savior, Jesus, after a 10-month battle with uterine cancer.
Bonnie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jesse Ralph Quinlan and Mae Rose Taylor Quinlan. She was the eldest of 11 brothers and sisters. Her parents moved frequently between Ohio and southern Kentucky.
Bonnie married Ross Edward Anderson I in 1971. They had two children, Ross Edward Anderson Jr and Rachel Anderson. They were subsequently divorced.
Bonnie moved to Charleston, S. C., and worked in retail warehouses and in stocking shelves. Bonnie also managed a mini-storage unit for a time. While in South Carolina, she met and married Alan Dungan, who was serving in the Navy at that time. The family moved from Charleson to London, UK; Kansas City, Mo.; Norfolk Va., and finally to St. Mawgan, UK.
After Alan retired from the Navy in 2004, they moved to Spring Valley, Minn. Bonnie worked part time for Ada Austin in Harmony, Minn.,at the Austin’s Goat Ranch. In 2007, Bonnie and Alan moved to Springfield, Mo., for more education for Alan. In 2009, Bonnie and Alan returned to Newquay, UK for a year of ministry. They then returned to Springfield, Mo., for more college. In 2014, Bonnie and Alan went to Israel for a year to do more ministry. They returned and in mid-2016, they moved back to Spring Valley.
Bonnie’s passions included gardening, arts and crafts, animals, and ministering to others.
She is survived by her husband Alan, her sons Ross Anderson (Gretchen) of Chillicothe, Ohio, Mike Dungan (Mindy) of Middleburg, Fla., and daughters Rachel Hornberger (Chester) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Beth Jackson of Tallahassee, Fla.
Bonnie’s funeral was held at Valley Christian Center, Spring Valley, with Pastor Mark Geselle officiating. Burial took place in the Fillmore Cemetery.
