November 2, 2020 by Fillmore County Journal

Betty Ferguson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Betty J. Ferguson, 101, passed away October 29, 2020,  in Rockford, Ill.  Betty was born June Elizabeth Carroll, along with her twin brother William, on August 20, 1919, on the family farm outside Caledonia Minn. Her parents were Lena and James Carroll.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, husband Clifford C. Ferguson, and son Paul D. Ferguson.

Betty and Clifford Ferguson were married January 8, 1946, and lived many years in Benson, Minn., New Richmond Wis., Amery, Wis., Lanesboro, Minn., and Mesa, Ariz. Betty moved to Rochester, Minn., after losing Cliff. She moved to Rockford, Ill., two years ago to be closer to family.  She was involved with the Girl Scouts and AFS, and she loved to play golf and cards until her later years, and she was a lifelong avid reader.

She is survived by three daughters: Patricia (Robert) Bleckinger, Mary Jo Berg and Carol (Jeffery) Moll; daughter-in-law Cheryl (Bob) VanGilst, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 a service of remembrance will be held in the spring of 2021, to be announced at a later date.  To share a condolence or memory with the family, please visit rileyfuneralhomes.com.
