Warriors Run TRC Table

Caledonia baseball had the TRC-East title wrapped up entering the final week of the regular season. They capped an undefeated league season and kept up an epic pitching and defensive display in their final two games. Hosting Cotter, Ben Stemper authored a first inning RBI triple. It was all the runs 6’4” junior pitcher Garrett Konz needed, as he threw a one-hitter (7 IP, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K, Win). The Warriors prevailed 2-0. Stemper (1-3, 3B, RBI), Hunter Goetzinger (2-3), and Jack Schmitz (0-0, 2 R) did the offensive work. Versus L-A, 6’4” junior Reid Klug tossed a one-hitter (7 IP, 0 BB, 8 K, Win), allowing just two men to reach. Caledonia scored in each of the first four innings to build a 6-0 lead, which stood as the final. Klug (2-3) and Will Allen (1-1) each drove in two runs. Stemper went 3-for-3 (RBI, R). Konz (1-4) and Owen Denstad (0-3, RBI) each scored twice. It was the Warriors fifth shutout. It was their 11th straight game (17th overall) holding teams to two runs or less. Landon O’Heron (5-0), Drew Yahnke (4-0), Konz (4-1), and Klug (4-0) all have at least four wins. The team ERA is 1.037. The Warriors have given up 34 runs in 20 games. Winners of 19 straight, 1AA top-seed Caledonia (15-0, 19-1) gets a first-round bye.
