Third Period Comeback Dooms Chatfield Wrestling’s State Hopes

Warriors Get Help to Wrap Up TRC-East

Spring Grove Boys Celebrating Win

A last-second three-pointer by Spring Grove sophomore Elijah Solum sent the key SEC game between the Lions (21-3) and Lyle/Pacelli (20-3) into overtime, tying it for the seventh time at 37-37 after a 20-20 halftime stalemate.  Then two Solum free throws, the only points scored in OT, won it for SG, 39-37. Section 1A Meet (Cal/SG/Hou (128.050) finished 6th among eight teams. In this final meet, the Warriors had their highest team score of the season, greatly due to season-best performances on the balance beam. Caledonia’s boys lost their first game, to #7 in D-II DeForest Wisconsin, 60-57 on a last second shot.  Cal started 17-0.  The Warriors then beat Lourdes 77-65, Eau Claire-Memorial 64-52, and #7 in AA Maple River 71-49.  Jackson Koepke had 27 versus the Eagles.  Koepke had 22, and Eli King 20, versus Eau Claire.  King had 25 versus MR.  The TRC-East leading Warriors (9-0, 20-1) … [Read more...]
