2022-2023 Wrestling Preview

Last season was again a strong year on the wrestling mats.  Chatfield was one win away from the 1A title, and finished as section runner-up (15-2).  They sent four guys to state.  Caledonia had a good team season (17-8) and sent five guys to state.  Both squads will again be potent.  LARP (15-12), GMLOS (11-13), and FCLMC (11-11) were right around .500 as teams.  The Bulldogs … [Read more...]

Fillmore Central won the Mid-Southeast Blue making state (12-1) and Rushford-Peterson took third (7-3). And thus, the Blue All-District team has a bunch of Trojans and Falcons. Football: Lions Overtaken in Final Half-Minute of State Title Game

It was a great run; twenty-six straight wins. It will be remembered; back-to-back state title game visits. A season ago, Caledonia rode a dramatic three overtime win in the section title game to make state. There, Brad King’s group (29-2) took third place. Sring Grove/Houston opened the gymnastics season by finishing third among five teams. The Warriors (117.800) placed behind Byron (136.650) and Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa (128.900) and ahead of Kasson-Mantorville/Triton (104.600) and La Crescent-Hokah (82.950).
