Chatfield pool opening celebrated

The new Chatfield swimming pool opened on June 7. Board hears numerous property valuation appeals

At the June 18 meeting of the Fillmore County Board of Appeal and Equalization, 12 valuation appeals were heard. Fillmore County Journal -Preston ordinance amendment allows indoor storage

Members of the EDA Housing Subcommittee provided the Preston City Council with an update at the June 17 meeting. Councilman Charles Sparks was absent. EDA Director Cathy Enerson explained they are working with a goal of adding 167 housing units by 2030 with the expectation that the city’s population will grow to 1,450 by that time. County budgeting process begins

County Coordinator Bobbie Vickerman presented a timeline for the 2020 budget discussion at the board’s June 18 meeting. Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Commissioner Laura Bishop supports recycling and reusing waste materials to the greatest extent possible. Judge Ross Leuning, Freeborn County, informed the county board at their June 4 meeting about the establishment of a Third Judicial District Veterans Treatment Court. Permit for recycling center considered

At the May 23 meeting of the Planning Commission, K. Rodney Beer presented his plans for a concrete recycling center to be located in Section 21, York Township.
