Arlyn Johnson, age 88, passed away at the Suite Living Assisted Living facility in Prior Lake, Minnesota, on Friday, August 21, 2026, where he had resided for the past 14 months. He was youngest of eight children, born on February 11, 1938, to Arthur and Minnie (Hungerholt) Johnson.
Arlyn worked as a heavy equipment operator for the MN Department of Transportation for 29 years and after retiring, worked for the township, grading roads. He was also a farmer and a coon hunter for most of his life. After retirement, he and his sweetie, Violet Wilklow, enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales and just enjoyed driving around (at about 45 miles per hour).
Arlyn is survived by his son Jeff of Lanesboro, daughter Holly (John) Andreen of Prior Lake, grandsons Jordan (Amanda) Andreen of Faribault and James of Glencoe, one sister, Darlene Hanson of La Crosse, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by significant other, Violet Wilklow, son Jan, his parents, his brother/sisters/in-laws: Everette (Betty) Johnson, Inez (Arnold) Hogie, Verna (Victor) Pope, Muriel (Amos) Holland, Minerva (Jack) Reimann, Lavina (Sven) Sveen, and Francis Hanson; and nephew Doyle Johnson.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
