All-TRC Wrestling Team

It was a solid year for wrestling in the county.  Chatfield put together another excellent season, posting a win over the eventual section champion and sending three guys to state.  LARP had some strong guys in the lower weights and got a state entrant.  FCLMC, for the first time in many years, fielded a full unit and thus picked up a bunch of wins.  Six Gophers and a pair of Screamin’ Eagles are All-TRC.  Chatfield’s six-pack ties D-E and Caledonia for second-best in the TRC behind 1A champ GMLOS’ seven.  The Gophers A-C selections are Cael Bartels (Sr. 113), Seth Goetzinger (Jr. 145), A.J. Karver (Jr. 220), Tate Karver (Jr. 138), Grady Schott (So. 170), and Campbell Berge (So. 160).  Bartels and Goetzinger each went 9-0 in TRC action.  Bartels (38-4) finished the year as Section 1A champ at 113 and took third at state.  He’s a three-time All-TRC pick with a 97-27 record over that span.  Goetzinger (39-6) was section champ at 145 and took second at state.  Just a junior, he is already a four-time All-TRC pick.   A.J. Karver (28-11) went 7-2 in TRC action.  He was Section 1A 220-pound champion and competed at state.  He repeats as All-TRC.  Schott (32-11) and Berge (22-15) each went 7-2 in the TRC and took third at sections.  Schott repeats as All-TRC.  Tate Karver (28-11) went 8-1 in TRC action.  He took fifth at sections.  Cody Guenther (Jr., 132, 24-15) and Kail Schott (8th, 126, 25-14) are A-C HM for the Gophers.  Each finished fourth at sections.  The Schott’s are brothers.  LARP’s two A-C picks are Ross Herber (Sr., 132) and Gable Speltz (Jr. 138).  Herber (27-6) went 9-0 in TRC matches.  He was Section 1AA runner-up at 132 and made state for second time.  He finishes as a three-time All-TRC pick with an 86-20 record over that span.  Speltz (32-10) went 7-2 in TRC bouts and took third at sections.  Tyler Kreidemacher (So., 113, 30-14), Carter Jonsgaard (Jr. 126, 31-10), and Jordan Zibrowski (8th, 120) were named All-TRC Honorable Mention for LARP.  Kreidemacher took fifth at sections, Jonsgaard fourth.  FCLMC doesn’t have any pure All-TRC picks but gets three HM picks in Stefan Nikoloski (Sr. 285, 25-11), Cale Anderson (Jr. 126, 20-13), and Orion Sass (Fr. 152).  Anderson (20-13) took third at sections, Nikoloski fifth.
