Dale Twite obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Dale LaVern Twite, 70, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 10, 1955, in Spring Grove, Minnesota, to Ozzy and Melba Twite.

Dale graduated from Caledonia High School and left Minnesota in 1972 to serve in the military. Following his discharge, he moved to Oregon with friends, where he met the love of his life, Linda. Dale and Linda were married on July 5, 1980, beginning a devoted partnership that would span more than four decades.

The couple later moved to Los Angeles, California, where they lived for 12 years before making the decision to return to Minnesota in 1991. They purchased a farm and built a life there together, creating a home filled with family, hard work, laughter, and countless memories. Dale remained on the farm he loved until his passing.

Dale worked as an electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was happiest outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in nature. An avid hunter, one of his proudest accomplishments was harvesting a remarkable 176-inch whitetail buck with triple brow tines, a trophy that reflected both his skill and passion for the outdoors. He had a special love for his dogs Blu, who preceded him in death, and Scooby, who remained faithfully by his side.

Above all else, Dale was dedicated to his family. He was generous, dependable, and always ready to help anyone in need. Whether family, friend, or stranger, Dale was the kind of man people could count on. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was especially devoted to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife Linda Twite, his children: Sheri Ryden (Greg), Shaune (Ron) Luck, Harold (Melanie) Ryden, Edward (Wendy) Miller, Joshua Twite, and Christopher Twite; his cherished grandchildren: Brian, Olivia, Caleb, Michael, Matthew, Andrew, Hannah, Tabitha, Reece, Cole, William, Liam, Logan and Layla; and his five great-grandchildren: Aimery, Adley, Miles, Isla and Esme. He is also survived by his brothers Doug (Kay) Twite, Darryl (Jessica) Twite, Darren “Beanie” (Lori) Twite, Dean (Tammy) Twite, Dusty (Tammy) Twite; and sisters Valerie Rouhoff, Cheryl Twite Fisch (Dan), and Shelly Twite Schafr (Caleb).

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ozzy and Melba Twite; his brother, Dennis “Dead Eye” Twite; and his beloved dog, Blu.

Dale’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched with his generosity, strength, and willingness to lend a hand. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. with a service at noon, and lunch at 12:30 on August 8 at the family farm, 22962 Grosbeak Rd., Lanesboro, MN  55949. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
