Lois grew up active in 4-H and took special pride in showing beef cattle and demonstrating bread baking. She met “Paul” through 4-H activities. After marriage they moved to Northern Minnesota, eventually settling in Silver Bay. Lois was a very talented artistic and creative lady.
She led many youth activities in Silver Bay as her girls were growing up. She took great pride in her creative endeavors, from painting, stained glass art, and quilting and was a very talented seamstress, making all of her girls’ clothing when they were young, which was the envy of their friends. She loved nature and planned many family camping trips across the entire United States and later she and Ray traveled the entire nation on bus tours. Lois was also an exceptional cook, even sharing her talents with the school children of Silver Bay. She then opened a ceramic studio in her home, which she ran for several years. Upon moving to Spring Valley in 1986, Lois was very active in her church – the Faith United Methodist Church, her garden club and her quilt clubs.
