Yvonne Jean (Haslerud) Larson, age 84, passed away December 15, 2019. She was born November 20, 1935, in La Crosse, Wis., to parents George and Selma (Olness) Haslerud. She grew up in Rushford and graduated from Rushford High School in 1953. After high school, she attended the University of Minnesota and played clarinet in their marching band. In 1957, she received her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. She taught Home Ec. at Kimball High School for a couple of years before marrying Richard Bruce Larson (from Choice, Minn.) on December 26, 1959. They lived most of their marriage in New Hope, Minn., where she was a homemaker, occasional substitute teacher, and later, worked at various fabric stores. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, skating, and fishing. Yvonne spent her her last 10 years in memory care at Emerald Crest in Shakopee.
Survivors include her son Brett, Bloomington; daughter Rachel (Steve) Gibson, Medina; and grandson Brad Gibson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020, at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina (952) 924-4100. Visitation one hour prior.
