Owen Denstad, Isaac Blocker, Tucker Ginther, and Cory Scanlan had pins in that span, Austin Swenson a 12-6 decision win. But the Bulldogs took four of the last five, three by pin. The match was probably decided when PEM’s #10 in AA Martin Prieto beat #8 in A Ayden Goetzinger (195) by 6-4 decision. A pin at heavyweight gave PEM the 39-36 win. Rochester-Century Tourney (FCLMC (126) took fifth of 11 teams. Maple River/USC (198.5) topped PEM (154) for first. O. Sass (170) was the Wolves sole champion. He went 4-0 (two falls, 16-1 tech fall, fall) for his title. K. Larson (106) and O. Hoeltzle (182) took second. Larson went 2-1 (won fall, won 15-3 major, lost 9-2 decision in finals). Hoeltzle went 2-1 (won two falls, lost 3-2 decision in finals). C. Hovland (138 > won 18-1 tech fall, lost fall, won fall, won 9-4 in SV-1) and Bod. Wright (195 > won 5-2, lost fall, won two falls) each went 3-1 to take third)
Kasson-Mantorville “Bob Swalla” Duals (Caledonia/Houston went 3-2, beating Byron 45-27, LARP 56-16, and St. Peter 46-27. They lost to #2 in AA Kasson-Mantorville 55-10 and #4 in AAA Shakopee 40-29. In the Warriors three wins, they lost just two matches total from 106 through 152 (22-2). The match with Shakopee was the tightest, as Cal/Hou led 29-28 after 195 but fell by fall at 220 and 285. Owen Denstad went 5-0 (two pins, 15-3 major, 5-4 and 8-5 decisions). Isaac Blocker went 5-0 (pin, two tech falls, 1-0 and 5-0 decisions). Cory Scanlan went 4-0 (two pins, injury default, 10-1 major). Gavin Plantz went 4-1 (three pins, 6-5 decision win, pin loss). Ayden Goetzinger went 2-0 (two falls). Warriors > 16-5. Wisconsin Dells Tourney (GMLOS (156.5) took third behind Brillion (189) and Cedar Grove/Belgium (163) of 17 teams. A. Quintana (126) and C. Wiste (138) won titles. Quintana went 4-0 (8-2 decision then three pins). Wiste went 3-0 (two pins, 15-0 tech fall). Donavon Felten (145) took second. He went 3-1 (won two falls, won 11-5 decision, lost 4-2 in SV-1 in finals to CG/B’s Cael Erickson (38-0)). Christian Luthe (285) took third. He went 2-1 (won fall, lost fall, won fall). Cole Sheely (106) went 4-1 to take fifth (four pins). Braxten Wiste (152) went 4-1 to take fifth (two pins, 11-8 and 4-2 decision wins). Sheely and B-Wiste each lost by fall in quarters)
Lake City Tourney (Chatfield (156) took fourth behind D-E (196), Northfield (183), and Lake City (162). G. Bartels (113), K. Schott (170), G. Schott (182), and E. Ruskell (195) took first. Bartels won by pin, 8-2 decision, and 6-4 decision for his title. K-Schott won by fall, 5-1 decision, and 7-2 decision. G-Schott had three first period pins. Ruskell had a pin and a 9-1 decision.
