Chatfield’s Thad Evans (who won 8-4) tries to keep his feet in the circle to score points in his 160-pound match versus Goodhue’s Grant Reed. At the Cal/Hou quadrangular, the Gophers beat Glenwood City 61-15 and the Wildcats 51-24, the later a key 1A win. Gopher wrestling is 6-1.

FCLMC Triangular (Neither D-E or LARP were close to full strength) > #11 in A Dover-Eyota 39, FCLMC 35 (Wolves led 5-0, but then not until 35-33 after 220.  D-E won 113, 120, 132, 138, and 145.  Eagles won by pinfall at 285 to win the match.  Bodey Wright (220) won the matches only forfeit.  Both teams were open at 126.  Boston Wright (152), Cole Sass (160), O. Sass (182), and O. Hoeltzle (195) had pins for Wolves.  K. Larson (106) authored a 17-2 tech fall.  The match had just one decision, D-E’s Cooper Hanson over Rowan Leib 8-7 (120).);

Caledonia/Houston’s Isaac Blocker hoists up Goodhue’s Beau Jaeger amidst a 138-bout. Blocker, recently ranked #1 at 138, won the match 9-3, though the Warriors dropped their first dual of the year to the Wildcats 39-29. It was all part of a quadrangular that featured top end 1A wrestling teams the Warriors, Wildcats, and Chatfield.

LARP 41, #11 D-E 42 (LARP lost five of the first six matches to trail 30-6 after 138.  They then won six of the next seven to lead 41-36 heading to 285.  D-E took a forfeit win at 285, winning the match.   LARP also forfeited 120 and 132 while winning forfeits at 126 (Colten Jenkins) and 220 (J. Meyer).  T. Tekautz (145), Wyatt Laumb (152), Jordan Kohnen (160), and T. Krzyer (195) had pins.  B. Corcoran (170) won a 15-0 tech fall.); LARP 18, FCLMC 54 (Wolves won seven of nine matches wrestled, took three of four forfeits.  Kyle Daniels (132), C. Sass (160), and Aaron Hutton (285) won by forfeit. K. Larson (113), Lieb (120), C. Wingert (138), C. Hovland (145), and Bos. Wright (152) had pins.  O. Sass (170) won a 9-6 decision over B. Corcoran, O. Hoeltzle (182) 7-3 over C. Anderson.  Owen Lange (106) and T. Kryzer (195) had pins for S- Eagles.  J. Meyer (220) won by forfeit.  FCLMC > 6-4.  LARP > 2-4)

Westfield Triangular > GMLOS 30, Westfield 50 (Westfield won the first three weights to lead 17-0.  GMLOS took the next four to lead 24-17.  But the Razorbacks won 152 through 220.  Bulldogs took forfeits at 138 (Cohen Wiste) and 285 (Christian Luthe) while forfeiting 152.  Aiden Quintana (126), James Jacobsen (132), and Donavon Felten (145) all had pins); GMLOS 60, W-E-M 22 (GMLOS won seven of the first eight by fall for a 42-4 lead.  All ten of their wins were by six.  Cole Sheely (106), Teague Alden (113), Quintana (126), Jacobsen (132), C-Wiste (138), Felten (145), Braxten Wiste (152), and Lucca Sween (220) had pins.  GMLOS took 170 (Zac Gehling) and 195 (Rowan Sween) by forfeit while forfeiting 182.  GMLOS > 4-3)

GMLOS’ Cohen Wiste works to get an arm versus WEM/JWP’s Gavin Krause at the Westfield triangular. The Bulldogs beat WEM 60-22 but fell to the Razorbacks 50-30. Wiste, ranked #2 at 138, ended the week taking first at the Stewartville Invite, the Bulldogs only champion at the event.

Stewartville Invite (GMLOS (116) took sixth of 13 teams.   Rochester-Mayo (201) took first over Byron (162.5) and Cannon Falls (140).  Bulldog C-Wiste (#2 at 138) took first, notching two pins before beating Mayo’s AAA #7 Calder Sheehan (21-4) by 3-0 decision.  B-Wiste (152) and Christian Luthe (285) took second.  B-Wiste won by fall and 2-1 decision to make the finals before losing by 3-0 decision to Mayo’s Ian Funk (24-3).  Luthe went 3-1 (won three pins, lost 7-0 decision to NRHEG’s 20-3 #6 in A Makota Misgen).  Donavon Felten (#4 at 145) went 3-1 to take third (won three pins, lost to Crosby-Ironton’s #6 John Paul Fitzpatrick by fall in the semis).  A. Quintana (126) went 2-2 to take fourth)
