Wade M. Jenkins left this earth for his next adventure on Monday, October 14, 2024. Wade’s health declined in recent months, and he left us far too soon.
Wade was born on June 24, 1958, in Rochester, Minn., to Joan and Jim Jenkins. He grew up with his siblings in Sunnydale, and later the family purchased an acreage outside of Chatfield, Minn., where Wade lived until moving to Pine Island, Minn., about a year ago. The majority of his career was spent as a glazier with K&M Glass and Ford Metro in Rochester. Wade was an excellent photographer, and loved all astronomy and science fiction, especially Star Trek and Dune.
Wade is survived by his father Jim Jenkins, Spring Valley; sister Lynne Oldre-Mortenson (Ken), Rochester; sister Laura Jenkins Lawler (Joe), LeRoy; nephews Travis Oldre of Kasson, Alex Glaser (Lauren) of Chatfield, Nicholas Johnson (Macy) of Byron; as well as his beloved companion Bitty Kitty, many family, friends, and pets.
A casual celebration of life open house will be held to honor Wade in a couple of weeks. Details to be shared soon. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in Wade’s name to Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, or your favorite animal shelter.
