Larks Top Burros to Make Rochester
Playing a competitive 1A Round of 16 volleyball playoff contest were 9-seed Lanesboro (17-13) and 8-seed Grand Meadow (15-13). Control mostly went from one team without too much fluctuation. Matt Rosaaen’s Larks led start to finish for a game one 25-11 win, as the Burros found their footing with a new setter. In set two, they did so, leading from start to finish for a 25-20 win. Lanesboro then stayed in control early in game three, leading 15-9. But a Lark 6-0 run tied the match at 15. GM taking a 17-16 lead was their first since set one. After six ties, Lark junior setter Hallie Hendrickson scored with a kill and an ace in succession for the 25-23 win. GM then led most of game four. With Lanesboro up 13-11, the Larks scored seven straight points, six coming while Hendrickson served. They went ahead 18-11 and closed out the set 25-21. They took the match 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21) to make it back to Rochester for the first time since 2018.
