Virgina Julian obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Virginia M. Julian, age 87, of Madonna Towers in Rochester (formerly of Chatfield), passed away on August 19, 2024, at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester.

Virginia Mae Julian was born on February 5, 1937, in rural Chatfield to Russell and Alice (Flury) Winans. She attended school in the Chatfield area and was a 1955 graduate of Chatfield High School. Virginia lived in Chatfield most of her life. She married Joseph Julian on April 22, 1957, in Chatfield. Virginia was a homemaker, Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Troop Leader and taught Catholic catechism classes for many years.

Virginia will be greatly missed by her six sons: Joe (Lynn) of Oronoco, Mark of Chatfield, Jim (Cindy) of Urbandale, Iowa, Gary (Michelle) of Stewartville, Mike (Michelle) and Matt, both of Rochester, three daughters Susan Sackreiter of Lyle, Minn., Latricia (Kerry) McNamara of Ellijay, Ga., and Veronica (Steve) Julian of Owatonna; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 12 p.m., with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hoff Funeral Home in Chatfield and again on Saturday from 11-12 p.m. at the church.
