Fillmore County Journal, Vernon Feine obituary

Vernon R. Feine, 91, of Rushford, Minn., died on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wis.

Vernon was born on August 6, 1927, to August and Clara (Senrick) Feine. He lived and farmed all of his life and career in the Hart area, north of Rushford. Vernon was united in marriage with Ethel Sievers on October 31, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart. Vernon was a member of Hart Farm Service and St. John’s Lutheran Church Board in Hart. Family and farming were the centerpieces of his life.

He is survived by three sons: Jim Feine of Winona, Minn., Glen (Marcie) Feine of Rushford, and Randy Feine of Winona, Minn.; four grandchildren: Chrissy (Jerry) Feine, Bethany (Joe) Notch, Amber (Jordan) Feine-Rasmussen, and Michael Feine; eight great-grandchildren: Kasity, Jax, Evelyn, Elliot, Autumn, Nora, Gwen, and Silas; two brothers-in-law: Darold (Alice) Sievers and Wayne Sievers, both of Rushford; and by two sisters-in-law: Lois Torgerson of Rushford and Millie Feine of St. Charles, Minn.

Vernon was preceded in death by his wife Ethel in 2004; and five siblings: Louis, Clarine, Victor, Villa, and Vernice.

There will be a funeral service for Vernon at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn., with the Reverend Harold Hintzman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

The family prefers memorials directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or Home and Community Options.
