Fillmore County Journal, Vera Redalen House obituary

Vera Redalen House, 91, of Chatfield, died peacefully Thursday, February 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Vera was born on February 24, 1927, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, to Andrew and Floy (Clawson) Jones. She married her first husband, Theron Marvel Redalen, on September 20, 1945. Marvel passed away in 2003, and she was remarried to Lyle Frank House on February 14, 2005.

Vera was active at the Root Prairie Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing, and loved entertaining her family and friends. She was a made from scratch cook.

Vera is survived by her husband Lyle, two sons, Theron Theodore of Mankato and Jason Marvel (Jen) of Chatfield, and two daughters, Marcia (Dennis) Redalen Loeffler of St. Paul and Rebecca (Dave) McIntosh of Greenwood, S.C.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three brothers: Dayton (Katy) Jones, Milton (Mona) Jones, and Leon (Linda) Jones; and two sisters, Ruth Hamm and Janet Miller. Vera is preceded in death by her first husband, two brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services took place 2 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Fountain. Officiating was Pastor Nissa Peterson. Visitation was held one hour before the service at the church. Spring interment will be in the spring at the Root Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
