Troy William Westphal

March 6, 2025 by Fillmore County Journal

Troy Westphal obituary, Fillmore county Journal

June 4, 1997 – December 26, 2024

Troy William Westphal, 27, of Edgewater, Fla., passed away on December 26, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1997, in Plantation, Fla., to Terry and Kim Westphal (Lien).

During his childhood, Troy lived in Minnesota before returning to Florida in his teenage years. There, he met his fiancée, Hailey Sloan, and together they welcomed their beloved son Lance in 2021.

Troy enjoyed working in restaurants and worked various jobs but most recently truly found joy being a stay at home dad with his son Lance. In his free moments, he loved gaming with his close-knit group of friends, whom he considered family. He loved nature walks to clear his mind and cherished taking his family on weekend trips to Florida’s beautiful springs, creating precious memories together.

Troy is survived by his son Lance Westphal and his fiancée Hailey Sloan, both of Edgewater, Fla.; his mother Kim Westphal, and his sisters Kristina (Andy) Hammell of Rochester, Minn.; Teresa (Charlie) Gramling of Rockport, Tex.; Shannon (Robert) Vogen of Rochester, Minn.; Michelle Westphal of Red Wing, Minn.; and Cheri Westphal of Rochester, Minn. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Bella, Roland, Braden, Corrin, Tyler, Morgan and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Westphal.

Troy will always be remembered for his deep love for his family and friends, as well as the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.

A celebration of life open to the public will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Potter Auditorium – Legion Room 401, Main St S., Chatfield, Minn. 55923.
