Sports have certain interesting records. For instance, Plainview-Elgin-Millville entered the 2022 TRC track and field meet having won the last nine such events on both the girls and boys sides. Bulldog teams (plural) have been TRC champions every year since 2011. RP/H’s boys and Chatfield’s girls ended said runs this season, claiming TRC team titles. The Tro-Cane guys (171) bested nearest foe PEM (167). Chatfield took fourth and Caledonia/SG sixth. RPH got two first place finishes from Tyler Rislov (1,600 > 4:44.18, 3,200 > 10:37.38) and Dalton Hoel (800 > 2:07.32, Long Jump > 20’10”). Gregg Gile took first (T-Jump > 40’5 ¼”) and second (L-Jump). Aaron Prinsen had three second place finishes (110-H, 300-H, P-Vault). Jackson Bergan (Discus) took second. Quintin Betthauser (110-H, 300-H) had two third places. Sam Backer (100 > 11.49) had Chatfield’s sole individual first. But the 4×100 (44.66), 4×200 (1:34.63), and 4×800 (8:40.60 > Alex Rowland, Adam Pagnano, Logan Thompson, Treyton Lanning) relays all won. The 4×1 and 4×2 both are Isaac Erding, Eli Hopp, Thad Evans, and Backer. The 4×400 (Cole Johnson, Rowland, Lanning, Thompson) took second. Rowland (800) added a third place. Thompson (1,600) and Johnson (H-Jump, tie) added fourth place finishes. Blake Thompson (Discus, Shot) had two fourth places. Cal/SG’s sole first place finish was from Chris Pieper (H-Jump > 6’5”). Fischer Wait (200, 400) had two third places. Eric Mauss (200) took fourth. Chatfield’s girls (151) bested nearest foe PEM (130.5) with RPH and Cal/SG finishing in the bottom end of a balanced 10-team field. Zayda Priebe (Discus > 112’3”, Shot Put > 34’9’ ½) swept first in the throws. Anna Kivimagi (300-H > 49.9) also took first place. Aletta Strande (3,200), Rebecca Copeman (P-Vault), and the 4×100 (Lauryn Daniels, Evy Goldsmith, Saige Schild, Jaelyn LaPlante) took second. Lexi Kivimagi (3,200) and LaPlante (High Jump) took third. Tessa McMahon (1,600), Emma Mulhern (P-Vault, tie), and Chloe Berg (T- Jump) took fourth. RPH was led by Aubryanna Boldt (2nd 100-H), Brielle Rasmussen (4th 200), and Lauren Honken (4th-tie, P-Vault).
