Thomas Frederick obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Thomas J. Frederick, age 61, of rural Wykoff, Minn., died Friday April 14, 2023 at his home.

Tom was born October 4, 1961, in Neenah, Wis., to Thomas A. Frederick and Sharon Lee (Tate) Frederick. Following high school Tom enlisted in the United States Navy in 1979 and served aboard the USS Ramsey for three years before being honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Sandy Jansen on June 12, 1987. Together with their children Cooper and Autumn they enjoyed camping, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends, especially around the campfire. Tom had a passion for  hiking, hunting, gardening and wood carving. He loved using his gifts of craftsmanship and artistry to create and make one of a kind and useful gifts for others. He loved learning new things and making old things new.  Tom also held a special place in his heart for his dogs.

He is survived by his wife Sandy, son Cooper and daughter Autumn, all of Wykoff; his mother Sharon of Oneida, Wis., his father Thomas of Tigerton, Wis., a sister, Kathy (Ron) Blohowiak of Virginia and a brother, Mike (Joni) Frederick of Seymour, Wis.

Please join the family for military rites at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 at the Veterans Memorial in Wykoff followed by a celebration of life being held at the Wykoff Community Center.  There, family invites you to a short service, sharing of your memories/stories and lunch (starting at approximately 11:30).

Over the years, Tom loved pruning trees on their “Never Done Acres” and since 1996,  has planted over 3,000 trees on their acreage. In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family would like you to plant a tree in honor of Tom and to please share photos of your tree to Tom and Sandy’s Facebook pages.

Condolences may be left at www.Hindtfuneralhomes.com.
