Theodore William Elliott Jr., 66, of Chatfield, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
Theodore was born on June 15, 1954, in Walnut Grove, Calif., to Theodore Sr. and Francis (Roscoe) Elliott. His parents were raised in Canada, and he had many fond memories of train trips back to Canada.
In 1974, Ted married Mary Jane Combs and they had a son, Andrew. They were divorced in 2010.
Ted worked at a variety of companies using his computer programming skills. While working at IBM in Rochester in 2010, he decided to take ballroom dancing lessons. On a Sunday afternoon at Blue Moon Ballroom he met Deborah Severson. In 2015, they moved to Florida where Ted worked at New York Life as a senior program developer. On January 28, 2017, Ted and Deborah were married in Tampa, Fla. They returned back to Minnesota in November of 2020.
Ted enjoyed reading, playing his trumpet, dancing, and traveling. He was an avid supporter of blood banks, having donated many gallons of platelets over the years. He will be sorely missed.
A private memorial service will take place at Fountain United Methodist Church in Fountain, with Pastor Deanna Woodward officiating.
