August 28, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Terri Peterson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Terri Jean Peterson, 48, of Houston, Minn., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 3 p.m. She was surrounded by her loving family and boyfriend, Brandon Erdman.

Terri was born, February 4, 1975, at the Winona Hospital, Winona, Minn., to Karyn Olson and the late David Peterson. She lived in the Houston and Caledonia areas her entire life. She was a 1993 graduate of Houston High School. After graduation, she worked various jobs, including TRW in Rushford, the Houston Liquor Store, Miken Sports in Caledonia, and Flex Craft in Houston.

Terri worked hard and lived for the weekends. She was well known in and around the surrounding area. Terri had a contagious smile that welcomed anyone she met. She enjoyed being around people and loved following local bands if she could. Terri attended many concerts and kept every ticket stub.

Terri especially enjoyed riding motorcycles; Harley Davidson being her favorite. She treasured the rides she took with her many friends.

Survivors include her parents Karyn and Leonard Olson of Houston, boyfriend Brandon Erdman of Houston, sisters Jan Anderson of Georgia, Robin (Curt) Paulson of Rushford and Michelle (Bryce) Bauman of Owatonna; brothers Michael (Kim) Kurtz of Caledonia and Dean (Kelly) Peterson of Virginia, nieces Cheyenne Jacobson, Dawn Decker, Desiree Kurtz, Shauna Kurtz and Taylor Littlefield; nephews Shane Jacobson, Curt Paulson and Kenneth Kurtz; great-niece Kylee, great-nephews Cooper and Walker, and her best friend of 28 years, Molly (Randy) Hauser of Wyoming.

Terri was preceded in death by her father David, cousins Warren Peterson and James Peterson, and future brother-in-law Scott Banister (who would have married her sister Jan).

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m., to 3 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Good Times Restaurant and Bar, in the lower level. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Yucatan Cemetery.
