July is a busy month for celebrations and festivals in Bluff Country. Rushford Days, Summer Fest, and the Root River Antique Engine & Tractor Show are three such events. They are all held the third weekend in July (15-17 this year) in their respective communities.
You do not want to miss the annual car cruise at Rushford Days, Rushford. The cruise showcases not only the area’s classic cars but the area’s scenic and historic beauty. There is also a burnout and car show scheduled. Stay tuned for live music featuring County Line Drive and Trouble Shooter and the Grand Parade. This year’s theater production is Roald Dahl’s “Matilda the Musical.” The Rushford Lions Club will don their aprons and grill up the best pork chops in the area.
LeRoy’s Summer Fest is a weekend of mouthwatering foods including the LeRoy Area Historical Society’s malt wagon and a drive-by brat meal prepared by the LeRoy Lions. Attendees at the tractor pull can expect a rip-roaring show. The bean bag and the kick ball tournament are sure to be competitive. The kids will enjoy the power sanctioned pedal tractor pull, the water ball fights, the kids games, and bounce houses.
The Root River Antique Historical Power Association Inc. is dedicated to teaching and preserving the past, specifically, farming. The 40th Root River Antique Engine & Tractor Show in Spring Valley features Oliver Hart Parr tractors and equipment and classic cars and chain saws. There will be a tractor and equipment parade all three days, live music, a classic car show, a kids pedal pull, a horse pull, and tractor pull.
