Steven J. Slostad, age 73, of Lakeville, Minn., passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2025, from complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Survived by wife of 39 years, Doris Dingley and son, Alex (Maggie) Slostad. Also, four brothers: Carsten (Edward, deceased), Paul (Carla), James (Debra), (Tony), Peter (Joyce) Slostad and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Alvira Slostad.
Born in Preston, Minn., Steve spent most of his adult life in the Twin Cities. After college he worked for the MN Dept of Corrections for over 23 years. He had a later calling to pursue ministry and entered Luther Seminary. After graduation and ordination he was called to an outreach ministry with Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the Midway, where they created the non-profit Open Hands Midway. After retirement Steve loved traveling with Doris. Even after his Parkinson’s diagnosis they took many road trips throughout the U.S., especially to the national parks. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
Visitation is Friday, August 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Lakeville, Minn. Funeral service on August 23 at 11 a.m. at Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Lakeville, with visitation an hour before the service. www.whitefuneralhomes.com
