It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Stene Anthony Anderson of Morristown, Tenn., who passed away on May 13, 2023, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital.
Stene was raised in Caledonia. He then joined the military as a fireman aboard the USN Oriskany aircraft carrier, doing two tours in Vietnam before being discharged. He worked as a truck driver before retiring. Stene loved his Harleys and especially his cherished Corvettes. He was known for his sense of humor and generosity, giving those less fortunate many of his possessions.
He is survived by his brother Butch (Debi) Shuda, sisters Connie (George) Mroch, Pat Sanders, Julie (John) Holzwarth, Jane (Tim) Foellmi, Keri (Dan) Becker and Diane Shuda, many aunts and uncles and special cousin Brian Vincent, as well as his good friend Mike Gallagher of Morristown.
Memorial services will be held June 19 at 11 a.m., at Leroy D. Holzwarth Veterans cemetery in Brownsville, with lunch to follow at the Brownsville Community Center.
The family would like to thank Hamblen Hospital staff for their kindness and all the visits from his church group, from where he attended and never missed a Sunday service.
Rest in Peace, our dear brother.

I have so many memories of Stene as a child pulling into our driveway and always dolling out a gift at each visit. His “Hey Darling could you please get me”… and they way he snickered (as his laugh) were so funny, My mom and him would go round and round. All filled with love and laughter. I’m truly sorry to hear of his passing.

Sorry to hear of Stene’s passing. I remember when he stayed with us after he finished his Military service. Later, he visited during trucking trips to the Portland Oregon area. It had been a couple decades since I’d seen him. Rest In Peace Stene. My deepest sympathies to the family.
