Stanley Chiglo obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Stanley LaVern Chiglo passed away on July 10, 2025, at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Pine Island, Minn.

Stanley was born on February 25, 1935, to Peter Sr. and Myrtle (Sveen) Chiglo at their home in Whalan, Minn. On July 17, 1954, he married Margaret V. Rossin, and they were blessed with nearly 71 years of marriage.

Stanley enjoyed restoring old tractors, cars, and fixing lawn mowers. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and NASCAR racing.

Stanley is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Kim (Kathy) Chiglo of Peterson, Minn., and Tim Chiglo of Harmony, Minn.; daughters Lori (Jim) Hoff of Mabel, Minn., Pat (Steve) Jacobson of Rochester, Minn., and Amy (Todd) Semmen of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and sisters Mary Hanson, Orlean Strand and Sandra Solberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents Peter Sr. and Myrtle Chiglo, brothers Nester, Maynard, Roger, Peter Jr, and Jerry, and sister Pearl Murphy.

Stanley’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his passion for mechanics, and his unwavering loyalty to his favorite football team. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A special thanks to Mayo Hospice, Pine Haven Staff, and Macken Funeral Home. 

A Celebration of Life hosted by his family will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Whalan Parish Hall in Whalan, Minn., from 1-3 p.m.

    So very sorry to hear this. Stanley used to do work for Bob. What a nice man. He will be missed . Hugs to all who loved him
