Spring Valley Woman Killed After Being Struck by Multiple Vehicles on Highway 63

Fillmore County Journal- Melartin proposes July event in Spring Valley

A 67-year-old Spring Valley woman was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by multiple vehicles while crossing Highway 63 in Spring Valley.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:29 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the intersection of Highway 63 and West Tracy Road in Fillmore County.

The State Patrol reported that pedestrian Melody Ann Raveill, 67, of Spring Valley, was eastbound crossing Highway 63 when she was struck by multiple northbound vehicles.

The vehicles involved were a 2004 Chevrolet Express driven by Mark Darrel Gusa, 60, of Spring Valley; a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Brian Scott Tart, 49, of Spring Valley; and a 2017 Honda Odyssey driven by Jessica Leigh Paulson, 49, of Preston.

According to the State Patrol report, road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.

None of the drivers involved reported injuries. All three drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not suspected in the crash, according to the report.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office and Spring Valley Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol. Additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues and more facts become available.
