Spring Grove Girls Fast-Break Past Schaeffer

The Spring Grove girls thrived in transition while completing an SEC sweep over visiting Schaeffer Academy, 55-33. Siri Konkel scored 14 points and Emerson Ingvalson 12 while Kendal VanMinsel secured 12 rebounds and Kylie Hammel 10. Grove improved to 16-2 and remained undefeated in conference action at 11-0, including an early-season, far more closely-contested road win over Schaeffer.

Neither team shot well from 3-point range (SG 1 for 12, SA 1 for 4), but Grove was the only one to shoot well inside the arc (SG 53%, SA 23%). Schaeffer shot well only from the foul line (8 for 11, 73%) but did not get there often enough to make much difference.

Taylor Elton’s girls held an-18-point advantage in fast breaks (28 to 10) in a 20-point win. Grove scored the first seven points and had doubled that margin to lead 30-16 at halftime. Schaeffer never got any closer after the break.
