Spring Grove Boys Rip Rochester STEM

The Spring Grove Boys cruised to a 95-36 home win over a new program, Rochester STEM Academy. It was 52-14 at halftime as the Lions improved to 19-3. Any established program who scheduled the Cobras (2-19) was permitted to play 27 games, one more than the usual season limit.

Both teams shot well beyond the 3-point arc with the Cobras hitting 8 of 20 (40%) and the Lions 12 of 27 (44%). But with 38 turnovers, STEM attempted only 38 shots. The Lions had a season-most 33 steals and a season-high 27 assists. Their 95 points were the most in seven years.

Fourteen Lions played, a dozen scored. Ben Udstuen led with 17 points; Jacob Olerud had 16 points while Devon Williams and Jaxon Strinmoen each added 11.

The Lion B -team improved to 14-4 with a 54-34 victory over STEM.
