Ten wins in a row in softball is not an easy task. Caledonia performed the feat, courtesy of a three-win week. Versus St. Charles, the Saints jumped out 3-0 and 5-1. Caledonia had a three-run bottom of third and then a five-run bottom of fourth to take the lead 9-5, which held as the final. Adrienne Lange (2-4, 2 RBI, 2 R) hit a solo home run. Elsa Blum (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R) continued her strong hitting. Braelyn Lange (7 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 11 K) battled to the win. The senior (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, R) also had a key two-run double that made it 8-5 in the fourth. Avery Augedahl (2-4, 2B, R) and Kennedy Hansen (1-3, RBI) also contributed. Versus PEM, Augedahl pitched a six-inning one-hitter (1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 10 K) to improve to 4-0. Caledonia prevailed 12-1 in six innings. Seven Warriors had multiple hits; Augedahl (2-4, 2 RBI, R), Blum (2-4, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI, R), A-Lange (2-3, 3B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Hansen (2-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R), B-Lange (2-4, RBI, R), Annah Anderson (2-4, RBI, R), and Aubrie Klug (2-3, RBI, 2 R). They had 16 as a team. Nine Warriors had at least one hit and nine scored once. Eight drove-in at least one run. To end the week, the Warriors brought the “yard” sticks at home versus W-K. Anderson (2-2, 4 RBI, 2 R), Paizley Lange (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 R), and Augedahl (2-3, 2 RBI, R) each hit home runs, as the Warriors won 11-0 in five. B-Lange struck out 15 in the five-inning affair (2 H, 0 R, 1 BB). A dropped third strike was allowed to reach; not every out was by “K.” She is now 6-1. Blum (2-3, 2B, 3B, 2 R), Vivian Kittleson (2-3, 2B, 2 R), and A-Lange (1-4, 2B) had extra base hits. Hanson (2-3, 2 R) and Klug (2-2, RBI) also had multiple hits. Seven players collected two hits. Five gals scored twice. Caledonia (7-1, 10-1) trails #6 in AA Cotter (7-0, 7-2) in the TRC-East. It has been a decade since a Warrior team has had a double-digit win streak. In 2014, with Sam Bratland pitching, Spring Grove/Caledonia won 15 in a row.
