Softball: Warriors Avenge Losses to Saints/Lancers, Improve to 7-1

A year ago, two blips in Caledonia softball’s unsuccessful attempt to repeat as TRC-East champions came when they lost to St. Charles 2-1 and lost to La Crescent/Hokah 5-1. The Warriors (12-3, 21-6) lost just three in league in 2025, but that was enough to give the Lancers (13-2, 17-7) the TRC-East title. In the span of three days here early in 2026, the #7 in AA Warriors beat both the Saints and Lancers handily. At St. Charles, leading 5-0 already, the Warriors had a nine-run fourth inning, prompting a 14-1 win in five innings. Avery Augedahl tripled and homered (3-4, 3 RBI, 2 R) plus collected the win (5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K) to lead the Warrior cause. Paizley Lange (2-4, RBI, 3 R), Brairy Proulx (2-3, 2 RBI, R), Elsa Blum (1-2, RBI, 2 R), Lily Wiebke (1-2, RBI, R), Nora Staggemeyer (2-3, RBI, R), Adrienne Lange (1-4, RBI, R), and Ashlyn Reinhart (1-3, 2 R) also aided to a 14-hit Warrior offense attack. Hosting the Lancers, Caledonia went 1-2-3 in the first and third innings but scored eight in the second inning. Six different girls had RBI in the frame. Chad Augedahl’s group prevailed 11-1 in five innings. Augedahl again homered (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 R) while pitching a one-hitter (5 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K). P-Lange (3-3, 2B, 3 RBI, R), Blum (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 R), Wiebke (1-3, 2 RBI, R), Staggemeyer (1-3, 2B, RBI, R), and Reinhart (1-3, RBI, R) all had RBIs and scored. After ward, P-Lange, Augedahl, and Blum were all honored for each surpassing 100 career hits this season. Prior to those two league games, the Warriors topped Class AAA Winona 5-2 in non-conference action. In a 2-2 game in the top of the seventh, Staggemeyer had an RBI-double and Reinhart a 2-run triple. Caledonia had four of its nine hits in the inning. Blum was 3-for-3 (3B, RBI, 2 R) to lead the offense. Staggemeyer (1-3, 2B, RBI, R), P-Lange (2-4), and Reinhart (1-4, 3B, 3 RBI) also did work. Augedahl (7 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K, Win, 1-4, R) collected the win. She is 7-1 on the year. The Warriors (4-0, 7-1) lead the TRC-East over the Lancers (2-1, 4-3), Cotter/HL (3-2, 3-3), Lewiston-Altura (2-3, 3-3), FC/L (0-3, 0-6), and R-P (0-4, 1-4). The Saints (5-1, 5-4) lead the TRC-West over Chatfield (2-1, 2-4), D-E (3-2, 3-3), W-K (1-3, 4-3), and PEM (0-2, 0-4).
