W-K scored six in the bottom of the first. Chatfield closed to down 7-4 after two. The Falcons expanded their lead to 9-4 after five. Chatfield closed to down 9-8 with a four-run sixth, but W-K got a seventh-inning insurance run and the Gophers went 1-2-3 in their half of the inning. It was the season-opener for the Gophers (0-1, 0-1))
