Sherry Lynn Miller

May 20, 2021 by Fillmore County Journal

Sherry Lynn Miller, 71, of Frankfort, passed away on May 8, 2021 at Munson Medical Center. Sherry was born on June 7, 1949, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., to her parents Melenor and Joyce Mikkelson.

While Sherry was born in Prairie du Chien, Wis., her and her parents later moved to Harmony, Minn. This is the place she truly called home. She met and married the love of her life, Dennis Edward Miller, on March 24, 1974. She traveled the US as a military wife, with Dennis, until finally settling down in Frankfort, Mich. She loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, hockey, football, camping, animals, and, above all else, her family. She was a very proud American who lived her life serving others and was also a very loving, caring, and giving provider to all who entered her life.

Sherry is survived by her daughters Melina (David) Penne, Melissa (Michael) Smiley, Marcie Ramos, Mandie (Matthew) Novogradac, Kory (Emily) Miller, and Lyna Miller; her father, Melenor Mikkelson, younger sister Tami Hoag, aunt Karen Morris, as well as 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Miller; mother Joyce Mikkelson, and her brothers Larry and Gary Mikkelson.

A memorial service will be held on May 28, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frankfort, Mich., with Pastor Rick Stieve officiating. Burial will be in Blaine Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to Melina Penne at 502 Michigan Ave. Frankfort, Mich. 49635 in Sherry’s name to help with expenses. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Home.
