Sally A. Swenson, 64, of Mabel, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Sally Ann Swenson was born on Tuesday, September 18, 1962, in Winona, Minnesota, to Raymond “Daniel” and Patricia (Schlink) Corcoran. She was raised in Rushford, Minnesota, and graduated from Rushford High School in 1981. Sally went on to further her education at Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, Minnesota.
On Saturday, July 9, 1983, Sally was united in marriage to Garry Swenson. Together, they built their life in Mabel, where they raised their three daughters and she farmed alongside her husband.
Sally found joy in the quiet, beautiful things in life. This was highlighted by her work at Mabel Floral and Gifts where she found great reward in creating floral arrangements for members of the community. She loved her home and took immense pride in the flowers and plants that surrounded it. Sally loved to travel with her husband Garry and enjoyed seeing new places and making memories along the way. In her quieter moments, she could often be found with a puzzle in front of her, happily working away until every piece found its place.
More than anything, Sally loved her family. She was a mother who cherished her daughters, and a grandmother who treasured her four grandsons. Her family knew her patience, steady presence, unwavering support, and the quiet ways she showed her love. She had a remarkable ability to give people the time and space they needed, and her patience was something her family will always carry with them. She was there for the ordinary days, the difficult days, and the moments worth celebrating. Her selfless devotion to those she loved, and her everyday acts of kindness became some of the most memorable and meaningful moments in the lives she touched.
Sally’s home, flowers, puzzles, her travels and all the little things she enjoyed will forever bring memories to those who knew her. However, it is the love she gave her family, and the place she held in their lives, that will be missed most.
Sally is survived by her husband Garry Swenson of Mabel, Minnesota; her three daughters: Laura Swenson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jaclyn (Asher) Weidemann of Ely, Minnesota; and Stephanie (Terry) Nipper of Rochester, Minnesota; and her four grandsons: Peter, Hayden, Everett and Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond “Daniel” and Patricia Corcoran.
A visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m.on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Mabel Community Center in Mabel, Minnesota, with a funeral service and meal immediately following.
