Rossmer V. Olson, of Preston, Minn., formerly of Edina, Minn., went to be with his Savior on April 11, 2021, while a resident at Gundersen Harmony Care Center in Harmony, Minn.
Rossmer was born on March 24, 1929, in Duluth, Minn., to Olaf and Anna (Peterson) Olson. On March 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Shirley Grimme in Minneapolis, Minn. He was later married to Deloris Grundberg on December 1, 1973, at the King of Glory Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, Minn. Rossmer enjoyed being active in both the Emmaus Lutheran Church in Edina, Minn., and First Baptist Church of Preston for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed woodworking and building shelves using hand tools. He worked for Red Owl Grocery Stores for over 40 years, where he was a computer programmer and then auditor. He later worked part-time at Golden Valley Stamps. He spent his leisure time being involved with the Philatelic Societies, where he exhibited stamps all over the U.S. and Scandinavia.
Rossmer is survived by his children Elizabeth (David) Anderson of Preston, Minn., Sandra (Brad) Franta of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Patricia (Tim) McGuire of Buffalo, Minn., and Paul Olson of Jupiter, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Rossmer is preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Olson, second wife Deloris Olson, son Cameron Olson, and his parents.
A visitation for Rossmer will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 9:30-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Preston. Funeral will be held following the visitation, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Groveland Cemetery in Minnetonka, Minn. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home is assisting the family.
