Rodney Dean Gregerson, age 77, of Harmony, Minn., died on Friday, January 26, 2024, at home surrounded by family.
Rodney was born on November 10, 1946, to Kenneth and Phyllis (Olson) Gregerson on a farm outside of Harmony. In 1979, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Welscher, at the Harmony House restaurant; they later married on August 30, 1980. Right out of school, Rodney was first employed driving an oil truck. He then stockpiled rock at Pederson Brothers Quarry for 25 years. Later, he was employed for five years at Rush Products. In 1995, Rodney and Marilyn bought the Harmony House restaurant, where he enjoyed conversing with everyone that came in and helping take care of the business.
Rodney loved playing dice with the customers at the Harmony House, tinkering in the garage and taking great pride in his “rigs.” He spent multiple hours driving around, which is how he got his nickname “Roadbear.” He was an avid Elvis fan and was fortunate to be able to visit Graceland. But above all else, his family was his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Gregerson; four children, Pam (Jason) Whitehill, Denise (Jacob) Zwart, David (Jolene) Gregerson and Matthew Gregerson; 10 grandchildren: Logan, Bryce, Kaylee, Keirra, Brooke, Madilyn, Chad, Drake, Trinity and Savannah, all from Harmony; two sisters, Deanna (George) Michel of Harmony and Robin Gregerson of Blaine, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place in the Greenfield Cemetery in Harmony. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
