Fillmore County Journal - Bob Fishbaugher Obituary

Robert “Bob” Fishbaugher, age 91, of Harmony, Minn., died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel, Minn. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Harmony, with burial in Prairie Queen Cemetery, rural Preston. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December  28, 2016 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Bob was born March 21, 1925 in Bristol Township of Fillmore County, Minn., to John D. and Bernice C. (Scrabeck) Fishbaugher. He was married to Audrey Patterson on August 3, 1952. To this union six children were born, they later divorced. Bob was a gas station attendant for Midland at their Harmony and Decorah locations. While there he pumped gas and performed tire and auto repair,along with spraying chemicals on farm fields. Prior to retirement, he worked at Seneca Foods in Rochester.

When the children were all young and at home, the family enjoyed spending time visiting with their relatives. Bob enjoyed hunting and dancing, especially to polka music on Sunday afternoons during his retirement. Bob also favored watching Fillmore Central Sports, Green Bay Packers, taking part in The Friendship Wagon, and taking in parades of surrounding communities.

Bob is survived by five children: Larry (Jerilyn) Fishbaugher of Racine, Minn.; Jeffery (Kay) Fishbaugher of Dover, Minn.; Norene (Dan) Schwirtz of Caledonia, Minn.; Bryan (Jill) Fishbaugher of Harmony, Minn.; and Stuart Fishbaugher of Canton, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Heather (Patrick) Herrick, Cory Fishbaugher, Stephanie (Ben) Fishbaugher, Travis Fishbaugher, Zachery Fishbaugher, Karli Fishbaugher, Kari (Casey) Klug, Nichole (Chris) Deflorian and Michael Schwirtz; eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Phyllis (Gene) Hageman of Harmony; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Fishbaugher and Marlene Fishbaugher, both of Harmony; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven in 2013; and his brothers: Stanley (Dolly) Fishbaugher, Clayton (Ellyn) Fishbaugher, John “Jack” Fishbaugher, Harvey Fishbaugher and Orrin Fishbaugher.
