Robert (Bob) Burmeister

Robert Burmeister obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Robert (Bob) Burmeister passed away on December 24, 2021.  Bob was born on October 21, 1939, to Harold and Hester Burmeister.  He graduated as valedictorian from Harmony High School in 1957.  Bob then joined the Army and was a Specialist 4th Class in the Military Police.  After the Army he returned home to farm with his family.

Bob enjoyed a peaceful and restful 60 years before he met the love of his life on the Harmony Golf Course.  He married Marion Stangler on September 2, 2000 and together they resided in Canton until 2019 when they moved to Harmony Place.  Little did Bob know that by joining this family he would be attending every sporting event, horse show, concert, play, musical, Grandparents Day, and every other school event across SE Minnesota.  In his free time Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, puzzles, watching the Twins or Vikings, and he could never pass up a good card game.   

Bob is survived by his wife Marion, sister Louella, stepdaughters Deb (Bob) Morken of Spring Grove, Dawn Palmer of Byron, Diane (Doug) Meyer of Eyota, Denise (John Sheehan) Whalen of Rochester, and Dana (Todd) Noble of Emily.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Norman.

Service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Greenfield Lutheran Church, Harmony.  Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.  Memorials can be given to your favorite charity.  Three of the family’s favorite charities are Greenfield Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, and the Alzheimer’s Association.  Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, Minn., is handling the arrangements.
