December 23, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Richard Voice obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Richard Wesley Boice went to see Jesus on December 20, 2024, at the age of 85.

Richard “Dick” was born to Harold and Clarice (Evenrud) Boice on October 3, 1939. He was baptized and confirmed at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, Minn., the church he attended his entire life.

On October 25, 1958, Dick married the love of his life, Kay Rindels. Together they farmed and ran a successful trailer sales business before retiring. Dick and Kay raised two children, Brad and Jane. He was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and the newest member of the family, his first great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Kay; son Brad (JulAnn) Boice, two grandchildren: Mitchel Boice and Matti (John) Matheson; great-granddaughter Layla Kay Matheson and four godchildren: Jon Storhoff, Rachel (Trouten) Peterson, Michelle (Boice) Peterson and Tim Burkholder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jane, brother Robert Boice and sister Helen Swanson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, Minn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday morning. Burial will take place in Greenfield Cemetery. Schmelzer (formerly Lindstrom) Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
