Richard (Dick) Allen Rislove, 79, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Rochester, Minn., passed October 6, 2025, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. A graveside service followed by a celebration of life will be held on October 20 at 1 p.m. at the Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Memorial Park in Bloomington, Minn.
Dick was born on September 18, 1946 in Rushford, Minn., the son of Robert and Grace (Amble) Rislove. Dick graduated from Preston High School and went on to get his Mathematics degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduating he worked as a computer programmer initially at United Research Laboratories in East Hartford, Conn., and then continued in many different roles in the computer industry for the next 45 years in various companies throughout the country.
In 1979 he married Anne Jamar, with whom he had two children. The couple lived in Merrimack, N.H., San Antonio and Austin, Tex., and finally in Edina, Minn., until her passing in 2006.
In 2010, he married Janice Marx of Minneapolis. They resided in Minneapolis and Rochester, Minn., and Bonita Springs, Fla. He loved golf and gardening and tried to spend as much time as possible outdoors during his retirement years. Dick was an excellent golfer known for his generous and kind spirit.
Dick will be dearly missed by his wife Jan, daughter Elizabeth and son Benjamin (Andrea) Rislove, Jan’s sons Jason (Brenda Bauer) Marx and Jonathan (Lisa) Marx, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, brothers Jerry (Jeanne) and Bill (Lori), five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
