ST. PAUL – State Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston) announces that the City of Lanesboro will be receiving assistance for its wastewater and drinking water infrastructure from the State of Minnesota.
“I congratulate the local and state officials who worked together and secured needed funding for these necessary projects,” Davids said.
Davids said the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (PFA) approved a $461,728 Clean Water SRF-Loan and a $1,846,912 WIF Wastewater-Grant for Lanesboro, which will allow the City to replace sanitary sewer infrastructure on Pleasant Street and Sheridan Street Alley, Kirkwood Street, Coffee Street, Beacon Street, Rochelle Avenue, and add a new sanitary sewer main in the alley off of Rochelle Avenue.
The PFA also approved a $345,334 Drinking Water SRF-Loan and a $1,381,337 Drinking Water SRF-Principal Forgiveness Grant to replace the watermain on Kirkwood Street and other city streets.
Davids said the PFA estimates securing the loans will save local taxpayers more than $200,000 over the next 30 years compared to market rate financing.
Hypocrisy Exposed says
Let’s be clear – this grant is a classic example of socialism paid for by taxpayers primarily from the Twin Cities metro area. Y’all complain about the big city but willingly accept the welfare for your own needs.
