Renee Kumpf obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Renee Darlene Kumpf, 72, of Stewartville, Minn., passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022. She was born in Houston, Minn., on March 16, 1950, to Gladina and Gynther Halverson. She graduated from Houston High School and went to cosmetology school in Winona. After graduating from cosmetology school, she worked as an oOptometric assistant for 23 years. Renee met the love of her life, Mark Kumpf, and married on May 1, 1976, at the Little Brown church in Nashua, Iowa. Renee and Mark welcomed two sons, Jason and Ryan and raised them in Spring Grove, Minn. Renee was a loving wife, devoted mother, and a caring grandma, who enjoyed antiquing, thrifting, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed watching paranormal shows. Renee’s faith and devotion to Christ was an integral part of her life whether it be through hymns, daily bible reading and prayer. 

Renee is survived by her husband Mark, sons Jason (Kathy) and Ryan (Jo), and granddaughters Abigail, Emily and Asmitha. 

She was preceded in death by Gynther (father), Gladina (mother), Alf Reierson (stepfather), Gaylord (brother), Harla Benson (sister). 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester, Minn. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn.
