Rebecca Hanson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Rebecca “Becky” Hanson, 80, of Rushford, died peacefully, Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home surrounded by her family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Becky was born July 30, 1945, to Henry and Clarice (Haugen) Tudahl in Rushford.  She grew up in Rushford alongside her 9 siblings and graduated from Rushford High School in 1964.  She met the love of her life, Alan Hanson and they were married September 18, 1965.  Together they had four children: Christy, Richard, Steve and Craig.  Becky worked at Rush Products/TRW for 25 years and cleaned the Rushford Clinic for over 30 years.

Her favorite thing in life was her family.  She treasured time spent with them, especially when the grandchildren wanted to sleep over.  She also enjoyed decorating for the holidays, cross stitching, diamond art, and sewing.  She was a master at fixing and making clothes for the family.  Becky was also known by her family as “Reb,” which started from her love of Reba McIntire.

Becky was a devoted member of Root River Church and her faith was very important to her.  Throughout her illness, her church family was always there for her and her family and they are forever grateful.

Becky loved visiting with those she loved, and she was well loved in return.

She is survived by her husband Alan of 60 years, children Christy Hanson, Richard Hanson (Tara King), Steve Hanson and Craig (Sara) Hanson; 15 grandchildren: Lindsey, Kaycee, Brianna, Allison, Nick, Cameron, Kaitlin, McKenna, Maverick, McCoy, Gavin, Spencer, Shayna, Cade and Callan; many great-grandchildren who were all very special to her, her brother Milton (Leslie) Tudahl, sister-in-law Carol Hanson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Skylor and Tasha Hanson; and her siblings Delores, Betty, Beverly, Elizabeth, Curtis, Janice, Patrcia and Cheryl; as well as her parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Root River Community Church.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – Rushford and one hour prior to the service at the church.  She will be laid to rest at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.

Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. www.hofffuneral.com.
