Rebecca “Becca” Wangen-Kahn

July 21, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal 1 Comment

Rebecca Wangen-Kahn Obituary - Fillmore County Journal

Rebecca L. “Becca” Wangen-Kahn of Plainview, Minn., gained her wings at the early age of 40 on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of 11 years to Brock B. Kahn – soulmate, best friend, comforter.

Funeral services for Becca will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Plainview Church of Christ in Plainview, Minn., with Pastor Chuck Coggins officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the church prior to the service on Wednesday.

Born in Decorah, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Gary Wangen of Mabel, Minn., and Bonny Engen of Whalan, Minn. Becca was a devoted wife and mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She touched everyone’s lives with her energy, love and compassion. She will be most remembered for being there for everyone – in good times and especially in bad times.

The joy of Becca’s life was her time as a wife and mother. Becca loved every day of motherhood; her boys Isaac and Jared were the center of her life. She was a sports mom and was extremely proud of her sons’ athletics. As a mom, Becca was full of laughter, fun, joy, love and kindness. From day one, she knew her kids inside and out, and gave all of herself to help and support their growth into the great sons they have become.

Becca’s other joy was spending time with her family and friends. Becca loved to stay connected with her extended family and friends. She loved to spend time visiting them, whether they lived down the street or across the country, there were no miles in between.

In every role she played, Becca was truly a pure, beautiful soul who focused on others. Becca felt the pain of anyone going through a difficult time. Becca’s hugs were the best. Anyone she hugged could feel that positive vibe she included.

Becca lived a big life full of love and laughter. She had a contagious amount of positive energy and touched others wherever she went. We desperately wish we had more time with her, and are eternally thankful and blessed for the time we had.

In addition to her devoted husband, Becca is survived by her loving boys, Isaac John Holland and Jared Millard Kahn, of Plainview, Minn.; her mother Bonny (Richard) Engen of Whalan, Minn.; her older sister Mary (Todd) Wangen of Grand Meadow, Minn.; older brother Clay Wangen of Mabel, Minn.; sister-in-law Crystal (Rob) Moritz of Wanamingo, Minn.; father-in-law William Pugh of Minnieska, Minn., mother-in-law Diane Pugh of Wabasha, Minn.; nephews James (Alisha) McHan of Spring Valley, Minn., Chubby (Taylor) McHan of Spring Valley, Minn., Gage Wangen of Apple Valley, Minn.; nieces Elizabeth McHan of Wykoff, Minn., Brittany McHan of Grand Meadow, Minn., Dakota Wangen of Apple Valley, Minn., and Maliya Pugh-Ware, Braxton and Evelyn Moritz of Wanamingo, Minn.; many great-nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and special girlfriends.

Becca was preceded into death by her father, grandparents, special aunts and uncles, and friends.

A Rebecca Kahn Memorial Fund has been established at Peoples State Bank in Plainview, Altura, and Elgin, Minn.
