Fillmore Central takes pride in the programs that are offered at all levels of child development. Children are continually developing and we know that there are a lot of questions to go with all of these stages. We are very fortunate to be able to offer a variety of programs for families with children birth to five.
School Readiness and Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECSE)
The primary goal of Fillmore Centrals School Readiness program is to welcome students to the school setting, help them feel comfortable in a classroom and give them the tools to be ready when entering kindergarten. With a 4 Star Parent Aware Rating, parents know that our program goes above and beyond to prepare children for school and life. For more information and resources please visit parentaware.org.
Our preschool experience is offered to students three to five years of age. Special education students are also integrated into our classrooms, allowing friendships to form and differences to be accepted. A very important piece of our program is offering transportation for our students to allow all students the same opportunities.
Fillmore Central School Readiness, ECFE and the One Block Child Care Center works side-by-side with the ECSE staff and students. Early intervention helps identify any difficulties or delays in the developmental process and intervenes at the very earliest stages to help a child progress to their full potential.
Services for students under the age of three are delivered with a family-centered model. Instruction often occurs in the home, with district staff/consultants making home visits to work directly with children and to provide parents with strategies to facilitate child development.
Services for students aged three to five are delivered with a center-base approach. A variety of classes are offered to meet the needs of children with various developmental needs. Classes include activities which allow ECSE students the opportunity to learn and play with typically developing peers. Specialized services are provided within the classroom.

ECFE offers special family events throughout the year geared toward families with young children.
