Phyllis Arlene Jorde, 94, of Rushford, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born on December 8, 1931, at Winona Hospital, to Frank and Marie (Bess) Stark.
Phyllis found the love of her life, Stanley Jorde, and the two married on November 11, 1950, and the couple was blessed with four children. Over the years Phyllis worked at Winona Glove, Herff Jones, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, but her true passion was caring for her ever-growing family. She was an exceptional cook and an amazing seamstress. In her later years, Phyllis spent many hours quilting. When the weather was nice, Phyllis could be found tending to her flower gardens, or on the golf course. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at Good Shepherd. Christian music held a special place in her heart, and she looked forward to the times Pastor Chellew and Spencer would share their amazing talents and play guitars at Good Shepherd.
Phyllis is survived by her children Dianne (Martin) Stewart, Laurie (Erik) Overland, andPatty (Mike) Ebner; daughter-in-law Susan Jorde, grandchildren Julia, Emily, Kelley, Jessica, Blake, Amanda, Tia, Zach, Dylan, Robby and Brad; great-grandchildren Giovanni, Jonathan, Athena, Aubrey, Levi, Allison, Jorli, Drew, Claire and Micah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, son Jeff, grandson Blake Overland, siblings Norm, Adele, David, Edna, Harriet, Betty, Grace, Harold, Fred, William, Everett and Snickers.
Phyllis’ family would like to extend a special thank you to The Good Shepherd Lutheran Homes for their tender loving care, Joey Busse, and the Rushford Ambulance for their professional and loving care, and Pastor Chellew for his spiritual guidance.
