Phyllis Ann Toloken

April 26, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal

Phyllis Toloken obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Phyllis Ann Toloken, of Rochester, Minn., passed away on April 23, 2022. Phyllis was born on May 24, 1929, to Maxine (Smaby) and James Drury. She was married to Tilford H. Redalen in 1947 until his death in 1973. They had two children, LeaAnn and Robert (Bob). Phyllis remarried Harlan Toloken and they were later divorced. Phyllis lived in Fountain, Minn., during her youth and early adult life and was a longtime member of the Fountain Lutheran Church. Phyllis worked in sales for many years at shops in downtown Rochester: The Buckskin Shop, The Bazaar and Exquisite Leather. After retirement she continued to serve others by visiting the residents at Traditions Assisted Living in Preston, the Chatfield Nursing Home, and other care centers across Rochester. She loved creating an environment of fun and laughter as well as making people feel loved. Phyllis was well known for her high heels and fashion. Her hobbies included shopping, knitting and dancing, but her true passion was for her family. She attended many sporting events, dance recitals, piano recitals and theatre productions. She spent her lifetime putting her family first and was ever present in their lives. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by a daughter, LeaAnn (Steve) Haugen; a son, Bob (Marcia) Redalen; grandchildren Melissa Johnson, Todd Haugen, Laurie (Barry) Byrne, and Renee (Kevin) Tucker; great-grandchildren Breanna Van Dellen, Isaiah Redalen, Kaitlyn Tucker, Jacob Haugen, Lexie Johnson, and Leah Haugen. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marcia Rappe.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maxine Rappe and James Drury, her husband Tilford Redalen, and her brother David Rappe.

A private family service will be held in Phyllis’s honor. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Toloken family; to share a special memory or condolence please visit www.ranfranzandvinefh.com.
