Pearl Eilene (Hardecopf) Finseth of rural Fountain, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Chosen Valley Care Center.
Pearl was born October 9, 1932, in rural Dexter, Minnesota, Mower County, the daughter of William and Rachel (Julson) Hardecopf. She graduated from Adams Public School in 1950. On July 8, 1953, she married Vernon Finseth at Marshall Lutheran Church in rural Adams, Minnesota. They farmed in rural Fountain except for two years when Vernon served in the U.S. Army.
Pearl was a member of Root Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Fountain, Minnesota. She was active in Sunday school as a teacher and superintendent and held several offices, including president, in the women’s WELCA group. Pearl also served as president of the Root River Conference when the church was ALC.
Pearl was a member of the Root River Artists and enjoyed painting in watercolor, oil, and acrylics. She served as superintendent of the Fine Arts Division of the Fillmore County fair for several years.
Most important to Pearl were her faith, family and friends. She was blessed with five children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and their spouses, 15 great-grandchildren and a spouse, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by daughters Deborah Brown, Chatfield, Minnesota, and Donna Grover, Rochester, Minnesota; sons Loren (Mary) Finseth, Fountain, Minnesota, Lowell (Lori) Finseth, Fountain, Minnesota, and Kirkland Finseth, St. Charles, Minnesota; grandchildren Adam (Amy) Grover, Justin (Matt) Finseth, Rachel (Josh) Genz, Danica (Dave) Valentine, Rebecca (Seth) Eisenman, Whitney (Gabe) Kimball, Melissa Finseth and partner Andrew, Allison Finseth, Carmen Finseth and partner Rosette, and Samson (Katy) Finseth; great-grandchildren Tyler (Nikki) Grover, Chloe Grover, Sawyer, Faith and Owen Genz, Abel and Otto Eisenman, Brooklyn and Savannah Collier, Brooks and Reid Kimball, Delaney and Damon Valentine, Rafe and Wade Finseth; great-great-grandchildren Gunner and Harley Losee-Lee, sisters-in-law Elizabeth Finseth and Alice Hardecopf, and several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, her parents, two granddaughters, Laura Finseth Scott and Amanda Grover; four sisters: Wilma Weness, Marian Fossey, Esther Wiste and Dorothy Kadlec; and two brothers, Lloyd and Neal Hardecopf.
A funeral service will be held at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Fountain, on Saturday, October 3 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before the service. A private family burial will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Root Prairie Cemetery Association.
